Watch Brock Lesnar (c) vs Braun Strowman vs Kane Live Stream Online Info - WWE Universal Championship Match Predictions, Rumors, Results, Winner

The centerpiece of every Royal Rumble pay-per-view is the eponymous match, and rightfully so. With over an hour invested in each match, the significance of the result and all of the WrestleMania-bound stories that develop make it hard for anything else to stand out. WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar is going to defend his title against Braun Strowman and Kane in upcoming Royal Rumble Triple Threat Match on January 28, 2018.
With two Royal Rumble matches in the cards for 2018, that gap would seemingly double. In the past, the WWE often experimented with unusual title challengers (like Hardcore Holly challenging Brock Lesnar) or went with DQ finishes so as to keep a big moment from being overshadowed by the Royal Rumble match.
But that certainly doesn't seem to be the case in 2018, as the Royal Rumble features four title matches that will go just as far in defining the road to WrestleMania 34 as either of the Royal Rumble matches. Even with the two lengthy showcase matches likely bookending the proceedings, there's plenty of room in a four-hour broadcast for each contest to get ample time to tell their stories.

Triple threat match for the WWE Universal championship: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Braun Strowman vs. Kane

  • Brock Lesnar has not defended the WWE Universal championship since September.
  • He has made a number of appearances and had one of the best matches of his career against AJ Styles, but by the time the bell rings for this match on Sunday, it will have been four full months without a single televised title defense.

Royal Rumble WWE Universal Championship Predictions

With all apologies to the Kanenites out there, it basically breaks down into two schools of thought. The first possibility is that Lesnar wins this match, rolls through whatever challenge lies ahead at the Elimination Chamber and has his long-awaited date with Reigns and destiny in the main event in New Orleans. The other is that Strowman pins Kane and walks out of Philadelphia with the Universal championship in hand. He could revisit his rivalry with Reigns that frankly has a lot more juice in it for casual and hardcore fans alike, or the path could change at Elimination Chamber with any number of other outcomes.
No matter the outcome, this match will be an ugly, physical spectacle that could tell us a lot about the direction the men's Royal Rumble match could go in. For the record, if Lesnar wins earlier in the night, I don't think that even the goodwill from the Eagles' Super Bowl berth would keep Philadelphia from an intensely negative reaction should Reigns walk into town and win there a second time.

WWE Universal Championship Royal Rumble Rumors

It is rumored that Brock lesnar will retain his title against Braun Strowman and Kane as it is rumored that Brock lesnar is going to defend his title against Roman reigns in Wrestlemania 34.
